Noise when accelerating

Hi all,

I have a Avensis State D4D 2.2 2012 when I 4th gear and I press the gas pedal, when it starts to accelerate it makes a weird sound , almost like if the exhaust pipe has a hole, but I only can hear this noise  " Brummm " when I am accelerating from  40mp  and the sound will go for few seconds untill I get more speed and then nothing, but when reducing speed to 40mph and accelerate again there comes the sound. In speed below the 40 mph  , I can not hear the sound. Is this normal? or do I have a problem ? Much appreciated the answers in advance.

Only in 4th? On many Avensis you can get a resonance in the air intake ~1500-200rpm. This is usually due to the foam seals having worn & allowing movement.
