The size of the silencer resonator Avensis 1.8 Valvematic

I just had the car MOT yesterday, and it passed no problems. Whilst it it was up on the ramps, I was allowed to look under it. The catalytic converter and silencer combo are very interesting. The size of that silencer is huge. It looks like a torpedo or bomb! 

This is one piece of exhaust I hope never to have to change.

Compared to last years MOT where the lambda reading took long due to high moisture content, due to lack of use, this time it took only needed a blip of the throttle and it went green in seconds. The readings these came out as CO % 0.002 and HC ppm 5. Idle CO 0.001. With emissions getting tighter the analysers need to be more sensitive, or everything will read practically zero.

I think the brake fluid may need a change soon even though the brakes performed fine.

Yes the silencer on the 1.6 Valvematic Auris is almost as huge!
