Turning off alarm

My 2013 rav4 2.2 dcat invincible has the keyless entry system.  Can I temporarily disable the alarm so I can leave my small dog locked in the car for 5 minutes while I nip in the shop without him setting the alarm off?

would have thought so.

I don't have a RAV but on Toyotas there are 2 solutions normally:

disable the internal sensor - usually a button/switch for this

lock the door with the mechanical key as this normally doesn't set the alarm

Owners manual, page 99 ... the button to disable the intrusion and tilt sensors is up, just behind, the courtesy / map reading lights.

The manual is downloadable via MyToyota ...

Another way that usually works is to press the lock button on the driver's door armrest before shutting the door, and hold the outside door handle out as you close the door.  It stays locked without activating the alarm at all.  But make sure the key is not inside!

This, and using the emergency key, is also useful if the 12V Battery is on ti;s last legs.
