Hi my names Michelle and I'm new to this but just bought my 1st Toyota estima 1997 8 seater and ATM very happy with it ! 😀 (only got it today lol ) Been looking for one for a while as with my 4 children and my partners 2 we didn't fit in my 7 seater Kia Sedona , and when my Kia started choking people in the street we thought let's do it when we saw a great deal on one! The only issue so far mind u is the speedo ?? Don't actually think it's right showing about 15 miles more than we're doing ? Seems this is a problem with these imports though !

Hello Michelle - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

In the UK, legally speedometers should never show less than the actual speed.

Speedometers should not exceed 110% of the actual speed and for speeds between 25 and 70, indicated speeds should not exceed 110% plus 6.25mph.

One thought is whether the wheel/tyre combination on the vehicle has been changed, which could result in the speedometer over-reading by an excessive amount. You may have a tyre pressure plate somewhere on the vehicle (possibly inside one of the door openings), which may confirm the original wheel/tyre size.
