Swapping Seats

HI,

I have just bought a 08 Avensis TR, 5DR, having previously had a 04 T3-X.

Having had a while, I find that the driver's seat in the 08 is not quite as supportive as the 04. I suffer from back problems, so this makes a difference.

Would it be possible to replace the driver's seat in the 08 TR with one from a 04 T3-X?

Any risks or downsides to doing it?

The only major thing is the side airbag! The Battery has to be disconnected for a good 30 plus minutes. Once that is done then you can disconnect the plug under the seat. The other worry is that after fitting the replacement seat, the SRS light does not come on permanently!

You other problem is that the seat material matches the rest or you will have to change all of the seats.

Thanks, once fittings & connections match I can live with appearance. Seat covers if I can't.

Are you sure your old seat hadn't moulded to your shape?go and sit in the donor seat before changing over?

I am not sure what seat adjustments are available, but they must be something between the Mk1 T22 and Mk3 T27. Both had height, lumber recline and forward/backwards. The T27 has a pump for the lumber adjustment. The switch is on the side of the seat base. I would try all adjustments before swapping the seat.
