TPMS staying on after new wheel replacement

Hi All,

I recently put new wheels on my Yaris as I wanted to keep the originals nice and scratch free and the TPMS light has come on and won't go off again, am I right in thinking that somehow the original wheels were "coded" to the car and if so is there any way apart from going to Toyota I can pair the wheels up with the car again please?

Many thanks in advance

It's not the wheels themselves that are "coded" (in some way) to the car, it is the valves fitted to the wheels which have bluetooth modules integrated into them for the purpose (and now legal requirement) of TPMS. Your new wheels (as long as they are BRAND NEW) should also be fitted with such valves but these will need to be paired with the car at the dealers using Toyota's TechStream software.
