Diagnostic tool info for MMT codes

Hello all

I own a Corolla with MMT which is giving me trouble and I am using the ELM327 OBD II bluetooth reader with Torque APP lite. This will only read engine fault codes but does not read transmission fault codes. 

What are you guys using? Does the Torque APP that you purchase read the codes? Do I need Techstream? I have an OBDII connector that I use for VW cars(VAG-COM) can I use this with Techstream software? I assume being OBDII it should work? Is the techstream free?

 

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Can't answer your question per-se, but when I bought my ELM327 for my laptop I got techstream free.  I can't remember whether it was on a disc or I downloaded it somewhere.  It's quite comprehensive so you have a better chance of reading more codes than with Torque lite.

Thank you. What connector can be used? Mini VCI tis v10.30.29 OBD2 would be a good choice? Would the ELM work with this?

This is a paid version of techstream or am I missing something?

The cracked versions that you get with cheap VCI etc. won't be as current but then again your car is 2005 so it doesn't really need to be.
