Hmm i have a squeaky clutch, does that mean i need a car service?? My car has done 50,000 .... think i should have a big service??

Does it squek when you press the clutch pedal down ? I know that the spring on the clutch pedal can do this. It's under the dash and just needs a spray of grease. If not then it could be your diaphram springs on the actual clutch itself.

yeah it's when i push it down, kinda bugs me that sound, cos u can hear it from outside...

:D Hi m8, sorry to bother you again but been waiting for your reply, have you got your squeak on the clutch fixed yet?, thx :D

it could be where the piston of the slave cylinder connects to the actual clutch. a quick spray of WD40 should sort that out.

is it coming from the engien bay or the pedal?

have a nice day

:D Hi m8, its coming from the actuall pedal, ive had it sprayed with wd40 before and it seemed to do the trick about the squeak but the pedal still felt quite squeegy when pressed/depressed, i got it sprayed again the other day but the squeaks still there. Something must be worn, maybe the diaphram spring or the bushes maybe?, thx for the reply regards m8 TRIGGER :D

first of all its probably likely that the squeak you describe is coming from the pivot on your brake pedal, have a look if whne they sprayed the pedal that they haven't got thepaint layerthick causing the two metal bits to rub.

next bit is more alarming if its squeegy you probalby have air in the system, this could actually cause the squeak you describe but its coming from the wrong place, would be coming from the brake servo rather than the pedal

hi

got my car back last Friday and they have fixed the squeak i think they had to take the gearbox out something to do with the thrush bearings ...sorry its a bit vague as i was rushing to get home.

Would be nice if they gave u a copy of the work they carry out...

My squeak is coming from the clutch and the gear box, so annoying, but i can't be bothered to get it checked! hehehe..

Does anyone have a problem with their back windscreen spray thing, it always leaks out water if i go over bumps and bumpy roads... anyone know why it leaks?

that would be the THRUST bearing , if they went that far as to take the gearbox out ( too late now ) you should of had the clutch plate and pressure plate changed ( same labour charges )

thrust bearing spins on a metal fork while changing gears. ( quick explanation )

water is just from whats left in the pipe and the bumping is forcing it out .

It's normally the clutch release arm pivot which squeeks - gearbox out job to remove the arm and copperslip the pivot point - BOO !!!

another place is the piston on the slave cylinder, slip the boot off and spray some wd and bob's your aunt.

have a nice day
