Remove DPF, leave CAT behind?

Hi guys.

Im going to tune my 124hp avensis, its said to get around 155hp with DPF intact, 170hp with DPF and EGR deleted.

The DPF and CAT is combined in one unit. Should I leave the CAT behind? The tuner could not tell me what I should do, because he only programs the ECU.

Im hoping someone here knows the correct answer :D I want maximum power :) Hoping to remove the DPF so I could put it back later if I run into problems. Possible? :)

Greetings from Norway!

Got my own car remapped and EGR off, also Avensis 124hp stock. Result 151hp and 408nm very danamic driving now.

If it was me ill buy a used DPF and modify that and save the original.

I also replaced the clutch to a 177hp edition because it startet to slip. The original clutch had done 150.000km

It seems to be a good choice :) I'll see if we have a used filter at work, and just modify this and keep the original for later usage, in case of a ****storm in the future ;) If I dont find one, EGR off and regular tuning for me as well.

I ordered a K&N airfilter as well, hoping this will do some magic. Its nice that it fits in the normal slot. Its due to change the regular one anyway.(120000km service this week, air, diesel etc..)

The clutch is a good tip, definitively upgrading it if it starts to slip!
