Power Steering Trouble?

Hi,

new member and know very little (mechanically) about my celica but its my pride and joy

Anyone ever get a squeeling (like a dodgy fan belt) from the wheel arch on a full lock (left and right)??? happens usually but not all the time - power steering fliud is topped up though

doesn't affect steering but one time on a tight (slow!) corner it kept squeeling and then the steering seemed to lose power and stutter between power and none (and still squeeling all the while)... until i shut the engine off and re-started it

any one care to diagnose?? pleeease????

the power steering belt needs tightening or replaced , its on the drivers side behind the covers on the wheel arch.

is the drive belt for the steering pump tight, it could be that that's squeeling?
