Slight hesitation

My mate has a 2005 1cd-ftv avensis and there's a slight hesitation until 1800rpm when the turbo boost's it feels like your in the wrong gear.we have cleaned the egr and blanked it done a diesel purge new fuel and air filter and can't see or hear any leaks.could it possibly be either the injectors or turbo? Also no play in the shaft of turbo.

Update:we took off the maf plug and car runs better or at least we think it does hadn't much time for a longer run.anyone know if it's OK to leave it unplugged for a long journey to see if it's the maf sensor and has anyone got any info on the readings of it to see what it should be?

Dunno if it's ok to leave it unplugged for any length of time, but it might just be dirty:

Been cleaned when we done all the other work. .thinking it's faulty might try mine in it to check it...thanks for your reply

you could try a compression check to rule out engine issues , then if there ok onto the indjectors any good diesel specialist can test then .
