This is the first time that I've had to renew my insurance with the rolla and the results are very interesting.

Details: 1999 G6R, Fully comp, limited to 3000 miles per year, catagory 1 alarm/immobiliser, parked on the drive at night. 1 SP30 fixed penalty, 3 years no claims, 23 years old, modifications declared.

I was insured with Endsleigh who sent me a renewal letter quoting me over a grand for the year (10,000 miles)..........yeah right Endsleigh, nice knowing you!

As with every year, I rang 10 companies, some companies e.g AA, RAC didn't even bother after silly quotes from previous years. Here are the results..........Value in () = £ over my best quote

10. Privilege 01132 439988. Wouldn't insure under 25's with modifications (not even just non standard alloys!)

9. Dorset 01202 302888. Another with no mods if under 25!

I still think my best quote is stupidly high, especially for the miles I'll be doing, but I can't legally drive here without any.

try www.theaa.com again this time, I'm 18 with a 1.3 98 corolla saloon, and they quoted me £950.
