Hi People

Can anyone help. Im looking to replace the original sony stereo on my Avensis 1998. This means going down from a double din to a single din. I have everything except the fascia. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I keep being given the wrong part. I get supplied with autoleads part fp-11-02/bk which does not fit. Can you even buy them anywhere?. Any help appreciated thanks

The Autoleads is for the later facelift Avensis, if I am correct. What I would have done if I still owned my old Avensis is:- replace the Sony double din with another double DIN, or using the brackets from the Sony, fit them to the single DIN, then source a pocket in the remaining gap or source a lower spec Avensis which had single DIN and pocket.

Armour had a few pocket options FP-006 multi pocket kit or FP-11-01 pocket (both for Toyota). Not sure if and how they fit!

Once the stereo is fitted, you just use the surround that came with the unit.

I had all this planned years back, but was pointed in the direction of the Connects2 iConnect USB adapter for Sony, that plugged into the CD changer socket, and had a through put for the CD-changer I had installed in the boot. It is hard to source the USB adapter now. Things have moved on since.

Back to you problem, check breakers yard for early lower spec Avensis.
