Hi to all,

Have an AYGO X- PLAY VVT-I   year 2016, just had the vehicle converted to use as a towcar + daily use, was advised to have a blank ign key cut to prevent starting the car and possible theft when towing the car, had this done but seem to have a problem, the blank key fits the door lock and unlocks the doors via the central locking, however, when inserted into the ign lock it will "NOT" turn the ign switch,  i need to have the switch in position "1" to release the steering lock for towing purposes, is the fact the blank key has no chip, the reason the ign lock will not turn??? or could there be another reason, any assistance gratefully received,

Sorry I can't help, but you could be on to something there. I'm sure I read that later model Aygos lock the steering via the electric power assistance system.

Think the steering lock is linked into the electric power steering, as the full owners manual talks about the 'steering lock motor'.
