Hi,

I've kerbed my alloys, not badly but it has some scratches and a slight chip. It isn't noticeable to other people, but I can see it every time I look haha. The wheels are the black ones that come with the Aygo x-cite.  Should I touch up with paint? Leave it? Or pay about £50 for a refurb?

I'm about 18months into my plan with Toyota and brought from main dealership, but I doubt I'll take it back to them as I'm considering part ex at another garage to get finance without a balloon payment.

Hi if you can afford it, my advice would be to get it sorted. It's a pain every time you go to your car to see it,looking at

you reminding you of that kerb. But that's just me.

I'm thinking of using touch up paint as if I pay £50 for a refurbish and do it again, I'm keeping the car for at least another 6-8 months, plenty of time to chip/ scuff them again.

My main concern is corrosion/ oxidation, how quickly does this take hold?

Hi @wutangforever89

I see where you are coming from and I just wonder whether a bit of touching up of the wheels by yourself, followed by fitting these:

might help.

I don't know what colour your car is but you can get them in various colours to match or contrast with it and they might even enhance the car when you come to sell it.  They might give you a bit of protection and/or peace of mind if you kerb the wheels again.

Good luck and all the best.
