hi,

thinkin of getting a unichip instead of the apexi s-afc, would this be a better option for my rev1 and what options does the unichip offer to me?

Also how much are they and how mcuh roughly to get fitted and set-up?

thanks

Unichip is a decent upgrade but is a piggyback chip, and not a full ECU upgrade, so ultimately not as configurable, though having said that it depends what you want.

Cost around £550 fitted and mapped.

The Unichip is a great way of adding a fair whack of extra power, trouble is it's only as good as the installation engineer , try look for Owen Developments in Oxford who have a very good rep. Cost can range but I was quoted about £450

I suppose it does depend on the mapper, but they all should be good.

We have Jerry who is supposedly the best UK mapper !! He works in Dastek HQ in fife. Good bloke, knows what he's doing.

Unichip is the way to go. With my future plans, I have no reason to change.

Thanks for every1`s advice,

I cant afford what owens told me to get, which was the motec ECU, £1800 fitted

And im pretty sure the apexi power fc wont work on the rev 1, so im pretty limited I guess. Seems like the unichip should be fine for me. Is it a simple 1 day job if fitting and setting up? Also does this allow me to change my ignition settings as well as fuel?, what else can it do?

give dastek a call mate.. they'll answer all your questions.

Should be a 1 day job as long as you don't have any car probs. I had a dodgy wire somewhere in the ECU loom, so it took an extra day.
