T27 Daytime Running Lights

On my 2012 car, it has Daytime Running Lights comprising of a strip of LEDs along the top brows of the headlamps, but with a conventional bulb in the inner corners nearest the grille (it's these bulbs that are most noticeable during daylight).

However, I've noticed that some models have some larger, brighter LEDS in place of these bulbs that stand out better. Was this a modification after 2012 up to 2015?

No, it's a grade thing - cars like my T Spirit/Excel with Bi-xenon headlights have it, not sure about T4s.
