Hi,

After various discussions with mechanics/mates/importers I am none the wiser...

What is the correct / best grade of fuel to use in an imported MR2 MY92 N/A. I would assume for the turbos that Optimax/Super/Octane booster would be a neccisity. But for the normally aspirated among us, is normal 95RON unleaded (not supermarket crap) good enough?

Personally I use Optimax for my imported N/A...

There have been various arguments on diferentr forums and never a definate answer but...

JAP cars are setup for the JAP 100RON petrol so Optimax is the closest thing in the UK. Only suggestion I owuld make is to try run on normal 95 for a while then make sure the tank is as empty as you can get it and then try a couple of tanks of OPTIMAX. If you can feela difference go with whichever is best.

For me it's OPTIMAX all the way, my 2 loves the loopy juice :D

Thanks folks,

Will be running Optimax from now on (again), used to put it in the Calibra Turbo as a matter of course anyway - and I think the combined on the MR2 is lower too!

Also going to give it a dose of STP, IMHO that stuff works brilliantly.
