Right all, this has been a long time coming. Been putting it off for ages, I know it's not had one for at least 7 years. My dad never fitted one before he gave her to me. Now on 98K.

Don't want to spend a stupid amount but don't want just a standard clutch kit. Spoke to my mechanic (Ed China) ha. So I know what I need. Just thought I'd post up here incase somebody can point us in the right direction or so say don't have etc. It's a leg killer!

Thanks as ever people

Adding it all up money wise. And the fact I do 20miles a week!!! I'm thinking either the eBay Excedy one or the Basic Fensport one!

The fensport one looks really cheap though or is it me?

Beware eBay ones, its well known that the big brand names are often cloned and sold on eBay, some manufacturers even have details on their sites on how to spot a clone unit.

The basic fensport, just says it a standard unit , not an uprated one ..

Have you looked at the Sachs units, taxi drivers swear by them.

Assume your existing clutch is a standard one , so its lasted a long time , why the need for an upgraded one if just tootling around town ..?

It was just a quick search on eBay that came up this morning. Just an example really.

I always try and uprate any part I swap or change but spending £500-£600 on one plus labour. Can't justify that, no way. Didn't think they would be thy expensive to be honest. Prob worth half the price of my car ha.

Just not sure on that fensport one. Gut instinct really.

I'll look at those later on with the taxis.

Cheers

Where do fensport get their parts made anyway? Do they design the parts themselves?

I've decided I'm going for the standard Exedy one. Can I find the thing......no!

Only eBay so far. But it is a blueprint one in a Exedy box. That's the thing. I even rang Exedy today in Runcorn, bulk buying orders only. They said europarts was a supplier but they don't have them. Nightmare!!!!!

Not sure about Fensport to be honest Paul. Selling there clutch at that price it can't be long lasting. Surely

Kind of scrap that last post. Anyone heard of CG MOTORSPORT in Leeds?

Coming up on google with some good reviews and social media too.

The look like a proper car sports equipment with very high prices !

Understand your wanting an uprated clutch, but apart from the standard makes the only options seems to be a full competion clutch which as you say, is way to expensive and probably has many drawbacks for a standard road car ..?

Expect Fensport standard clutch  is just some other makers reboxed , they are way too specialised for a small firm to manufacture, though their price does seem very cheap at £100 delivered ?   You could always ask them direct, who makes them and if they last as long as any other standard type .

Many other places (not ebay) have other makes like Luk and Japanparts at about £120, the rest like Blueprint, Valeo seem to be around £220 ,

ECP and GSF do not seem  to actual have any TS clutches available, but you could enquire at some more local car factors and see what they offer, Blueprint seem a well liked brand.

Mister Auto stock Blueprints.

APages seem to stock the Luk ones.

Bit surprised all the other TS members have not added comment as would have thought a clutch is a regular replacement with all that power and hard drivng ...

Personally I'd just get a standard one. Parts king quoted me £201 delivered a few months ago.

Aftermarket parts are hard to come by for our cars hence why I'm now looking at focus st 225's, lots and lots of parts available readily.

Thanks for the replys, hints and tips guys. As I posted early early this morning ha, did loads of research on google, forums etc. And there's not much out there like you's have said for a T Sport. (Surprise)

So today I popped in at CG Motorsport in Leeds while I was doing work around that area and had a chat with the guys in they're! I've ordered a Stage 1 Clutch Kit for £200 after a little haggling.

Overall the reviews are really good. I'm not on social media as such but even on there people a rating them high quality. From 200bhp Corsa's, 400bhp Saab's, to 600bhp Evo's and Impreza's. £200 was a little more than I wanted to spend but it's still uprated than standard and hopefully should last along time. Got my friend at the Toyota Specialist garage making room in his diary already.

I'm working in Sheffield 2mrw but hoping to call in on the way and collect it. Just waiting on a call in the morning!

So fingers crossed I'll post a picture up of the new purchase. (Would of rather had my compressor front end fitted instead)!!!! Always something isn't there

Not a bad price that👍

My two friends had the focus st. Well one had the Orange tuned to 333bhp but swapped it for an Impreza sti, just for more traction that was all. My other mate had a white 08 225, all he did was buy a dream science tune box that plugged in the car. Went from 225bhp to 280bhp with 440tqe. Crazy power. Can see it on a rolling road on my YouTube channel from years ago. Quick cars, and well spec too.

Test drove a 2.5 wrx hatch last week, a really stiff clutch, 5 gears and a rattly crunch when letting off the clutch put me off.😞

Also drove a 07 st and was very impressed 😱 so opposite to our T sports in terms of power delivery, much more mid range grunt but it was weird not being able to rev to 8250 and bounce off the limiter like we do with ours.😎

Being honest Impreza's in standard form aren't much cope (been there etc). Great modded, and even better if you find one already done and much loved. Those Focus ST's are impressive. I was really surprised at how smooth they was and quiet. Our at T Sports are so loud on the motorway and in high gear.

Course the Revs ha ha. My friend had a civic type r before his orange foucs, nearly blew it up twice cos of over reving it ha. Kept forgetting. I like the R32 Golf. And love the Evo 6. Maybe one day....or never 😢

Really used to love my vw's,an r32 was once my dream car but now prices are high and you have to spend £8-9 grand for a decent one.
