Yaris D4D Stud Sizes

Hi guys,

I've just bought a set of replacement alloys for my MK1 D4D. They're the standard Toyota ones, exactly the same size etc, but the bolts don't fit securely enough because the alloys are thicker. I've also come across a problem trying to take one wheel off because the stud is spinning. Finding replacements is easy enough but I need to know if the standard ones that are fitted with the steelies are suitable with a new set of bolts like these or if I need to buy longer ones as well. I could use knowing what length the current studs are if I need to replace just the knackered one or what length I need to buy if not. I would call Toyota but I've had such crappy info from them in the past that I don't trust them (they told me my car has a DMF, ffs!).

Cheers,

Dean

The wheel studs stay the same however the wheel nuts do not. Toyota steel and alloy wheels nearly always use a different type of nut see the link for a pic of the correct nut type for most of Toyotas alloys: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Toyota-Celica-MR2-Avensis-Corolla-Aygo-Alloy-Wheel-Nuts-x-20-Flat-Seat-/231665805243?hash=item35f05ba7bb:g:qakAAMXQDnpTYrr1

As for getting a new stud use your dealer as there are loads of variations your chassis number will get the correct type and they only cost a few £

That's great, thank you. Yes, I knew I needed new nuts - have those in my watch list already.
