The earlier timing chain issues with the BMW N47 diesel engine were supposedly fixed in 2011. The version used by Toyota has a Toyoita design dual mass flywheel, stop/start system, and  new fuel injection system. Has been fitted in the Verso since early 2014, and is a!so fitted to the Auris, Avensis and Rav4. I haven't seen any issues notified to these forums.

Thanks a million for the update.

Mine is 2014 March Registered, however it doesn't have the stop/start. Does it still have the latest fuel system and better timing chain? Also what does D4D stand for?

Your a legend Frosty, thanks in advance.

Yes.

D4D - I believe it stands for Diesel, 4 valves per cylinder, Direct injection
