New member, new Auris Hybrid owner

Hi all, have just joined.  I bought a late 2015 Auris Excel Hybrid about 6 weeks ago.  Had previously owned a Fiesta Zetec, and Astra Mk4 before that.   The Auris feels very plush in comparison to the Fiesta, and has a quality feel to it throughout.   It's my first automatic so it has taken a bit of getting used to, but I'm very happy with it so far.  Learning all the navigation, phone and media functions is taking a while too, but I'm slowly getting there!

One question:   I have the PDF file of the car's User Guide - all 576 pages of it - and I've printed a few selected sections of it for quick reference.   The dealer told me that Toyota don't produce printed copies of the manual, but does anyone know if they are available from another source (like someone who prints the PDF in booklet form)?

Welcome. Does seem rather strange not to have a printed manual. I downloaded a camera manual to my smartphone just so I didn't need the printed one with me all the time. Just an idea. Regards.

Approx 3-4 years ago, Toyota ceased supplying the full owners manual with new cars - instead issuing an abbreviated version. The full version is available on-line from   https://www.toyota.co.uk/tme#/my-toyota/eManual

They have also produced small print runs of some full manuals, but because the print volumes are small and thus more costly, individual copies are on the expensive side. The parts department of your dealer should be able to find out whether they can order a printed version of the full owners manual for your car.

Hi Andy,

At least you have another source of information, here with all these other owners

Hi all, thanks for the responses.  I did ask my Toyota dealer if printed copies of the full manual were available but he said they weren't. There is a shorter version in the car but it only really covers the basics.   The document wallet in my car is now stuffed full of extracts from the full manual!  The full manual's 576 pages would use 144 sheets of A4 paper if printed in 'booklet' format.  Printing it myself on my home printer is pretty much out of the question.   There is a separate 292-page manual for the media & navigation system (73 sheets printed in booklet format).   It's a good idea nevertheless to download the PDFs, to my smartphone or iPad, so I'll do that.  I just find printed manuals easier to flick through, that's all.

Cheers!

Did you ask the sales department or parts? Sales may not actually know - for example my car was supplied with the Touch 2 manual when it has the X-Touch, and I gave up asking for the correct manual to be supplied ...... It is covered in my full owners manual anyway.

When I purchased my new Aygo in 2016, I obtained a printed copy of the full owners manual - admittedly it cost approx £26, due to the low print volume, and had to be ordered. Could send Parts-King a personal message, detailing your car (reg.no as a minimum) and ask whether he can find out if any printed owner's manuals are available for your car.

Hi, I admit that I asked the person from sales, but he did seem pretty clued-up.   I was back there last week for a scheduled "hybrid health check" but didn't think to ask the service people.   Maybe next time.  I'm not surprised that your Aygo manual cost £26 though (it's probably even more for an Auris manual).  Thanks for the ideas anyway.
