Brakes/electrical Question

When the brake pedal is pushed my dash lights and front marker lights light up wth the brake lights. Any ideas..... Brake light switch, turn signal switch???

check the pedal itself incase it's snagging on a wire anywhere. Had that once in a Mini......took months to figure it out.

check all the bulbs at the rear are ok , could be just a poor earth somewhere .

Now the car has blown the instrument panel, tail light and transmission lock fuse. Could it be a bad brake light switch?

replace the fuse and press the pedal again a few times if it blows again , then you know its that is the problem.

I've had this happen to my '77 Corona. Believe it or not, the problem was a bad brake/tail bulb, whose brake filament had broken and shorted the brake light circuit to the parking light circuit, making the dash lights come on when I hit the brake. Check your brake light bulbs carefully... I'm pretty confident that this is the problem.
