Kangeroos in second gear

With the introduction of 20mph speed limits we've found driving at this speed in second gear causes kangerooing. It's a low mileage T2 .It had a new clutch fitted about 18 months ago.

I plugged in an OBDII but it didn't come up with any codes.

Any ideas.

Thanks Chris

I have a vague recollection of there being an ECU update/advisory that is supposed to fix a symptom like this but I can't remember what Yaris it was for.
DevonAygo might know...?

I had a problem like that when idling/low RPM in my Yaris, and that was down to the EGR port in the throttlebody being blocked up with soot - If you have a petrol one that shouldn't be an issue for you

Thanks for that. It had an alternator failure and it seems to have started after that. The Battery was virtually flat, could this have effected the ECU.

Unlikely, but if the Battery was flattened I'd get it checked or replaced - Car batteries don't like going under 50%, never mind being run flat! It may be that is causing some issues in the electrics...

That said, I don't think that would have done anything to the ECU - Power loss doesn't usually affect them; Power surges on the other hand...!
