Hi all,

I'm wondering if any of you have come across this and if/how you solved it:

As the title says I have a 2004 1.4 D4D Corolla with approx. 210.000 km on the clock, driven mostly to work and back (about 20km a day.. i know, not great for a diesel), regular yearly service plus whatever needs fixing in between.

However, in the last few months it's developed a strange issue - when accelerating under load (3rd, 4th or 5th gear), just around the 3000 rpm mark it feels almost as if I've hit the limiter - the power comes and goes, I'm still accelerating a little bit, but not smoothly. It's as if I was pumping the accelerator at that point. This happens only when I go at let's say 3/4 or more throttle; if I'm gentle the car accelerates smoothly. My garage is clueless.

The only clue I have is from an OBD reader that connects to my phone, and I'll try to attach a chart of what I found interesting (without knowing how to interpret the data) - the MAF sensor and intake manifold pressure seem to be showing some problems, but I'm not sure if a) the OBD is reading the data correctly (it's suspicious that the pressure caps off at 2.55 bars), and b) if this is the cause or the effect. In any case, it shows something's happening in there under load that isn't right. The issue is induced around the 420 mark where you see the MAF air flow going up and down.

I'm confident it's not EGR since I've had it replaced two weeks ago, and I've also cleaned (but not replaced) the MAF sensor with no effect.

I'd be greatful for any ideas, and happy to add any more detail or OBD readings.
