HELP! 1996 1.3 sportif, ODBII or not?!?!

Hi guys, 

ive just been given a 1996 Toyota Corolla 1.3 Sportif.

im trying to find out if it has ODBii or not?

i know cars from 1996 were supposed to have them but not mandatory in the uk at that time. Does anyone have this car or any info as to whether it is odbi2 compatible or not?!

Have you got the engine check light on,   or a problem ?

You won't have one.

I had a look for one on my 1998 Corolla and I can see the blanking plate for the OBD-II connector, but there's no connector. Which is a real shame, but not a deal breaker as you can jump wire the diagnostics port in the engine bay and get the codes you need from the engine.

A simple disconneciton of the Battery resets the engine warning light.
