Tow bar and electrics

Just fitted a tow bar to the RAV, now need to wire it, how can I remove the rear light unit so I can get to the wires? I took the access panel off and removed the only nut I could find but the light wouldn't move.  What am I doing wrong😱😱 or is there a better way to do it?

I've updated my profile, sorry forgot when I registered.  My Rave is a 2003 diesel 5 door. Am looking to wire in a generic kit, it's comes with the correct rely I just need to get to the wires and I thought taking the rear light out would be the easiest way?  Does anyone know how to get the light unit out?
