seat modification for tall driver

I find the front seats on my Hybrid Excel "cut in" to my shoulders - I am 6ft 3in tall. Has anyone experience of cutting the cushion or similar remedy that they can recommend?

Rather than cutting the cushions, have you thought about adding a very thin padding instead, to push you forward very slightly?

I find the seat in the Yaris 99% comfortable, but 1% strange in how it feels. I think the problem is I need an intermediate step between the two positions I have it now. It's either slightly too far back and sticks in my lower back, or slightly too upright and feels to push me forwards (though it is also most comfortable like this). Any more upright and it also feels to be sticking in my shoulders.

Maybe even try a slightly more laid back seating position? It might feel a little strange at first, but could be just enough to address the issue.

Thank you for these suggestions. The problems with adding a thin cushion are practicality and also I want my sitting position (hips) as far back as possible to maximise legroom. I have tried a conventional cushion but it doesn't really work. Increasing the angle of backrest doesn't fully cure the problem, I find, and creates a new problem - the steering wheel feels too much of stretch. But thanks for the feedback.
