Running In...

In the Yaris hand book it states that a run in period of around 600 miles is sufficient.

I’ve been driving my car below 3000 revs so consequently not going over 40/50 mph. What do you think is an adequate run in period?

What have you guys done in the past?

Cheers

Yeah, i remember that..... Apparently its better if you drive it hard within the so called 'break in period.' Dont ask me why though..... it must open everything up i suppose!!

Ive got to be honest, it is very hard to take it easy when you first drive a new motor............. :D

I know what you mean Lee 1, the car just wants to fly! It’s so difficult keeping it under 3000 revs and keeping the speed down, but I will do as is recommended by Mr T and keep it down for the first 600 miles

unless you plan on keeping it for longer than 5 years i'd ignore the run in... perhaps give it a 100 miles of softly softly and then just belt it :)
