Hello and Advice

Hi all. I'm new here, so please be gentle. I've just purchased my first Toyota (65 plate 2 litre deisel) estate. I've only has it 2 days. Today my first problem arose.  Whilst driving to work, travelling about 25mph a red triangle flashed up in the little screen near the speedo with the word brake above it. Literally for about 2 seconds. Is this anything that I should be concerned about. Should I pop back to Toyota and have a word with them.

Many thanks.

Probably not unless it happens repeatedly.

Could be your brake fluid level is a little bit low, and has triggered the low level sensor in the reservoir. Check that the fluid is topped up to the maximum mark in the reservoir.

I have the same thing. I believe it is the Toyota Safety Sense system. Basically there is a laser situated above the rear view mirror. If it senses you are approaching an object too fast, or you are not braking, the car beeps and flashes up "brake". I believe it also increases the braking force when you do brake.  You will probably find that in the winter you get an orange warning on the dash telling you it is not working. The glass in front of the laser steams up and the system does not work.
