Hi first time user and new member I have a Corolla 2005 VVti 4 door 1.6 the nearside drivers side curtain bag activated after a heavy kerb collision following a skid in wet weather. I have brought a new airbag but do I need a new sensor if so were is it located within the car.

From some diagrams I have seen its located in the pillar, below the side airbag but above the seat belt pre tensioner.

No idea if the sensor needs replacing or how to check it.

Quiet a few posts on the web about replacing air bags etc. if you trust them;  though one wrong connection ....

Assume you know before any such work you  "must disconnect the negative terminal  of the Battery and wait 5 mins"  before disconnecting anything on the airbags or it may cause a false firing.
