Specific type requirements engine oil

Hi guys,can anyone point me which is a good quality engine oil for my 2006 corolla vvti 1.6 currently using comma 5w30 xtec fully syenthic mileage is around 75000,just abit curious as iv heard about specific requirements on which oil u should use as example API,SL,CF on certain applications

Toyota's preferred oil will be to API SL, SM or SN specification. No stipulation as to whether semi or fully synthetic is used.

Thanks,just due a oil change and curious if anyone had Better brand they been using likes of Castrol,shell,Halfords,magnatex etc,which meet the requirements on our engines,or best just to stay with comma again?

Brand is really down to personal choice .... and people's opinions will vary.

As Frosty says it personal choice,  almost impossible for we users to prove any one oil is better than another.

Used Castrol Magnatec  in the earlier life of my 1.6  when it was frequently on offer,  but its becoming so much dearer, so now gone back to Comma Xtech 5w/30 which I also used on two previous high milers eg to 180k miles.

The other thing about Comma is that they still sell in 5ltr bottles, unlike Magnetec which means you have to  buy a 4ltr and an expensive 1 ltr bottle each time.

Just done 100k miles in my 1.6 and it still only uses about .75ltr per 10k miles.

Worth noting that the oil you get from Halfords (their own brand stuff) is also produced by Comma.
