Handbrake not working

I have new brake discs, pads , and shoes. Cables are only 6 months old all fitted by qualified mechanic but handbrake will not still hold the car we are both baffaled any help cheers.

When you apply the handbrake is the cable nice and tight? You may need to adjust the cable length to get the correct leverage. I know it seems obvious but are the adjusters in the drums correct?. They should be adjusted until tight then backed off a couple of notches. How much travel is there in the lever?
