Weird Noises...

ok on the way back home today from dropping a friend off, I was totally booting it.

When all of a sudden I heard a weird noise. A loud ticking/clanking noise.

I thought crap.. engine prob ?? dropped the clutch and noise still there. Slowed down when I did.

The noise finally got quieter and has now stopped. It wasn't engine/rev related. Simply how fast my wheels were turning.

Sounded like it was coming from the rear left. For some reason the noise has stopped.

any ideas?

Surely couldn't have been something as simply as a stick caught up somewhere ???

Could it be anything to do with the recent installation of your LSD and other stuff? You know garages tend to not bolt things back properly lazy C*nts.

Don't know how relevant this is but had same sort of thing with my car on way back from work. Pulled over and found a stone had jumped up and got stuck between brake pad and disc on the offside rear. Came out easy enough. End of noise... and luckily no damage to disc surface or pad. <_<

this happened to mt mate turned out his wheel nuts were loose.

the stone theory sounds good.

The car is back in the garage tomorrow, so I'll mention it then tho. See what they say. I'll get them to check it over etc before I go to Cardiff to see the Chillis !!!

Remember I had a scare like this a little while ago.. turned out to be a small stick stuck between my mud flap and the bodywork rubbing on the tyre on full lock.
