Touch & Go & THREE network

Hello. I have my iPhone SE connected to my Toyota touvch and go (Rav 4 bought in 2016) via bluetooth. i can use the phone - and play music from my phone. What I cannot do is get it to connect to the internet. I have my hotspot turned on. I am on the THREE network. In the instructions, it says that if bluetooth is connected, then I should be able to just hit connect to internet. This doesn't work. Connection failed.  On going into internet settings - it asks for this information.

Provider Username    I am putting in here the name of my iPhone   Chris

Provider Password    I am putting in here the password to my hotspot.

APN     I am putting here     Three.Co.UK.

None of this works. Can anyone tell me where I am wrong wrong please ? Thanks.

You need to use the values for those fields that are supplied by Three network.  Go onto their website and do a search there.

I am on the Three network and once I connected my phone via bluetooth the internet setting just seem to work.  I cant remember doing anything out of the usally pairing of my phone.  Internet works just fine.

I can't get mine to work either, I tried enabling bluetooth tethering for ICS, but it still didn't work, so I gave up!

I popped into the garage yesterday, and a boy with 02 tried, and it just worked. Back to my phone, nothing. Just says failed all the time.

Harters said his phone just worked fine, he didn't have to do anything special.

Back to your situation, you shouldn't have to set tethering on, as this implies you'll be connecting via WiFi, and as far as I know, there is no WiFi on the Prius.

If your phone is working for internet "out in the field" away from the car, you shouldn't need to change anything on it to connect your car to the internet. You should just connect via bluetooth, if your phone bluetooth allows for that function.

bluetooth tethering is for sharing the phones internet connection over bluetooth, something I'd have expected it to require?.

Just keeps saying no internet connection, no matter what I do, and yes, the phone does have an active connection.

Are there any foolproof instructions for setting it up anywhere? the manual isn't much help for it.

No foolproof instructions as far as I have seen. I tend to have little patience, if it doesn't just work, I give up.

Have you tried deleting the phone from the car and deleting the car from the phone and then re-pairing it?

Yeah, even tried it with the wife's S7, no dice.

Are you on a contract or PAYG? It says on 3 that you cannot get a personal hotspot on PAYG. I am on 3 and have had no problem connecting, iPhone7

Never managed to connect my iPhone 6 on Three to my 2013 PiP for internet. Works for everything else though.

It sounds very much like tethering is not allowed on your contract. I had to get a £5 monthly addon on top of my normal 3 contract, in order to enable internet.

Thank you. I do indeed have tethering. I often use my laptop to tether (personal hotspot).

Right, I finally got it working, the two issues for me were....

1) my phone turns off bluetooth tethering after every bluetooth session, no idea why, or if I can even stop it doing it.

2) login information is the same information you use to logon to mytoyota, full email address and password.

Hopefully you can sort yours out.

Edit:appears there are tons of auto tether apps for android on the play store.

I know you are using iPhone but it maybe relevant.

Ok Danowat. So where it says Provider's Username it's my email address, and where it say's Password it's my password for mytoyota. Do I put anything into APN ?

Yeah, all I did was make sure my bluetooth tethering was active and input my mytoyota logon username and password on the touch and go and it connected fine.
