Re-setting Maintenance Light

Hello all- I have a 2004 Rav. I would like to know how to re-set the maintenance light?

At your local Toyota Dealer as they have the necessary equipment for this.

Dont know about the later RAV4's - but I think the early one's had a small black grommet in the instrument cluster,next to the trip reset.

Remove the grommet and press the reset button with a long thin screwdriver.

I'll have to concur with src, since the '04 model has the 2nd generation V V T i engine the electronics are different. Mine has no grommet near the trip odometer reset as mentioned above.

Wishing I'd bid on those dealer service manuals on eBay...

;) With key in ign switch, BUT off, depress and hold the trip odometer button down, turn key to RUN, do not try to start at this time, the odometer will display dashes (-----) which will start to go away and then it will flash zeros. All reset!!! Good Luck Its also in the owners manual.
