I came across this whilst visiting DPReview site - https://www.dpreview.com/news/6875746538/photobucket-breaks-billions-of-photos-online-upsets-millions-of-users

Basically members will have to pay $400 a year (not a typo) to access their photos. Also sites that use Photobucket will have notices in place of photos, telling them to update their accounts.

I don't use Photobucket, but use Flickr to show photos. I have a Google and Microsoft cloud accounts, but all my photos are stored on external hard-discs, in duplicate or sometimes in triplicate. If the cloud accounts have a problem, I still have access to my photos.

I haven't used Photobucket for years, but I can see why they're doing that. Costs plenty of money to maintain and expand their servers so people can store their photos, and that's before paying for bandwidth to display those photos on other websites.

But $400 a year? That's steep.
