I need to get a small loan - about £2 to £3grand.

Talk to your bank..They know you and are in the best position to help you out. Any company that will give you a loan just like that ...........are in it for the money purely........

I went with EGG a while ago.. they are very good... got a good deal coz I have a card with them.. you can put off payments and everything.

Loans are personal to each person so I wouldn't take any advice from anyone on here as solid just because of thier own experiences. None of us are 'probably' financial experts so it really is best to talk to the real 'experts'

If your credit rating is any good you could get a credit card that's interest free for 6 months, get them to do a balance transfer to you bank account for you 2-3k 'overdraft' then once the interest free period is up change to another card with the same deal. You never have to pay any interest! :D

I went with Lombard Direct for a loan a while back and got a much better deal than my bank or any finance company could offer.

you tried your bank yet mate? I was looking for around 3 months for loans for my car from various companies. In the end i decided to ask my bank, hsbc, as a last resort and they accepted straight away! Not only that but banks apr are way lower than most companies if youve been good with em.
