Hello fellow Aygoers..

I have racked up ~1300 miles on My little car, and loving every minute. However i have encountered a strangeness with the Satnav. Hoping anyone with the Navigation can help..

So I was using the satnav on my way to cornwall and realised the woman was giving directions (turn left) but my navigation screen was frozen showing I was still on the dual carriageway.  it has also gone black, showing no map, but the woman still speaks the commands.

Now im wondering if the signal just gets lost, because I was in remote areas, as it didn't happen  on a recent rip to London. Alternatively it could be a fault ?

Anyone else experienced anything like this?

It does freeze occasionally. Sometimes the map will freeze like it did for you and sometimes the voice will stop working.

I usually find pressing the menu button (below the volume knob) then re enter the satnav function normally gets things working again.

It wouldn't be a loss of signal if anything the satellite signal for the GPS would be stronger in remote areas. I believe it to be a software glitch that will hopefully be sorted soonish.

I do not have the X-Nav system, but have experienced the same issue with my smartphone running Here Maps and connected to my X-Touch through USB (Mirrorlink). Display was stuck some miles ago but voice navigation kept working. As a result, I missed the exit and then I realized that something was wrong! :-D

In my case, I only had to unplug the USB cable and plug it again, so that Mirrorlink connection was restarted. In your case (X-Nav), I would also perform a reset of the app (see @Cjohnston1982 post above mine) or a reset of the system (keeping power button pressed until system resets).

P.S. Did you really manage to drive 1300 miles since 24/6? Wow!!

This is exactly what happened to me ! i missed the exit, then realised it had frozen.

1226 miles to be precise :)   My mileage isn't that much anymore, but when I use the car I tend to do big journeys.. a few trips came up right as I bought the car too.(a mini break to Cornwall, a few trips to work, and a couple of times to London)

In my last Aygo I did 105k miles in 3 years :)    (there is no way I will do that again, as this is now a second car)  To say I am familiar with the aygo is an understatement :) Its a car that has won my trust, got me through EVERYTHING that has been thrown at it.. and given me no nasty surprises or big repair bills. I even took my last Aygo to Germany for Christmas markets with 4 people, overnight luggage and a roofbox filled with lots of beer / wine and gifts.. If anyone thinks the Aygo is under powered try driving that car !!! :):):) Good memories.
