How long is a surf board?

I've had 2 metre lengths of plaster coving and plumbing pipe in my iQ but that is about the limit. They have to pass between the seats and rest on the passenger foot well and the back of the rear seats.

Thank you!

It's a 6"3, about 192 cm, guess the passenger's seat and the width of the board would be the challenge, trying to fit those in the passenger's feet space and in the rear.

Still would like to know if anyone has really tried it.

I recently had a 2 metre long roll of vinyl in the car. Had the passenger seat all the way forward with the seat back reclined as far as it would go. Diagonally from the right rear up to the top of the corner window and the other end resting on the dash top on the left side of the screen/dash. I secured it with the front seatbelt to stop it from rolling. When driving I had no obstructions with the gear lever or to my vision. The cardboard tube in the middle was a little more than the 2 metres of vinyl. So, at 6.56 feet, plus a bit more, I would say that length wise, you would get a 6.3ft surf board in, but the height (width of the board) may restrict your vision.

That is promising, thank you.

Anyway I have the car now, and I suspect it is going to be ok, lots of space inside. I will be trying it soon, and will update the outcome of it here.

Thank you all for your time and kindness.

The only trouble with that is, in the UK the iQ is not classified to carry a roof load for some reason. So probably legally not allowed. It is strange as I have seen Smart cars with roof bars fitted. I think they should be allowed as it doesn't necessarily mean it's a heavy load just because it's going on the roof.
