Hi I have a Rav4 XTR 2009 and theres a loud droning noise coming from the rear. Changed the wheel bearings and diff oil but its still there. Louder at speed. Any ideas what I should look at next?

Tyres.??...or maybe the diff itself..I assume it's Active Torque Control.?

Mine was noisy from the rear also,

I removed boot floor panels and put soundproofing underneath,

seems much better.

If you have changed the wheel bearing and diff oil my next step would be swap the rear and front wheels over and see if noise changes to front , this would elimate tyres/wheel .  May be an out of shape tyre ? Worth a go first before looking deeper.

Is the exhaust system ok?

I had a Nissan X Trail some time ago, which we found out had an out of shape rear tyre...it made a constant droning/humming.

I think the drive shaft that runs from the front to the differential on these have a support bearing in the middle, Check that.
