Hi,

Im going to flog my Mk2 N/A or PX it and im now looking for a decent mk3+ tubby....hopefully in black...

However, would a celeca tubby be worth looking at too???

Insurance wise, are they similar groups???

Cheers

Adam

Nice decision - rev 3 tubbies in decent nick are hard to find on the autotrader - occasionally there is an absolute bargain up there (I missed out on one by hours!).

Go for Julian at MR2 direct imports for a showroom conditoin rev 3. (but will cost a little more).

In terms of insurance - it was cheaper for me to insure my rev 2 tubby than it was for a rev 3 N/A - weird...

I wouldn't write off getting a rev 2 yet - why specifically are you going rev 3?

just like the rear spoiler, rear lights, body coloured front lip, side bits are body coloured, more potential to tune the engine etc etc...

All the reasons why a rev3 is different to a rev 2 then!

TBH I would have got a rev 3 but cash wise I couldn't afford the additonal £ to buy, or insure.

Good luck hunting - search carefully.

i think it has an lsd too and side impact bars, some models have a drivers airbag etc....

Everyone keep em peeled for me please!!

How much do you have to spend;

Julian has this rather nice Rev 3 for £6995

Or this Rev 2 for £5150

To be honest, you'll need about 7K to get a decent rev 3.

Way too much for my budget mate, but thanks. That white one looks like its got the rev 5 spoiler on the back?

...the only way i could afford it is if this chap does part exchange....i cant sell privately cos i need mine for transport..

He doesn't do PX unfortunately;

Here is the autotrader search:

http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/cars_...rch_full=SEARCH

There are a couple in there that might be worth a look - but you take your money in your hands and hope a good one pops up.

Either that, or have a chat with Rash on here - who seems to be able to source good price cars.

Dunno why the owner didn't blank them out.....he posted the pic on another forum so I assume he doesn't care??

I was thinking about this the other day....in the post of Type II vs type III and someone put it as a con.....possibly jimlad I think ;) Anyway I'd look at as a pro...and anyway even with the extra weight it is still quicker out of the box :P

Hahaha..... :D good point, mind you it was probably all the extra electrics (electric mirrors etc etc) that the GT has over the GT-S that caused the car to go up in flames :P
