Auris Hybrid Estate Questions

I am taking delivery of a 2015 Auris Hybrid Estate on Monday which doesn't have a spare wheel. There are a number of items on eBay but not sure what applies.

If I get a spacesaver it appears I need to get some sort of fitting kit but I'm not sure whether or not the spacesaver will fit without lifting the rear cover.

Any advice gladly welcomed as I do not like the thought of travelling with the repair kit which obviously doesn't work with anything other than minor puncture.

Hi Steve, you are a lucky chap. I wish I was taking delivery of the same car, but I have to be satisfied with my Avensis Tourer.

I checked the owners manual - https://d24bc9lyrt5en5.cloudfront.net/Customer-Portal-Admin/emanuals/TOYOTA/OM12J36E.pdf?_ga=2.242184769.2134336600.1501407361-526758182.1491114935 page 493 spare wheel storage and tools.

You can download owners manual from here - https://www.toyota.co.uk/tme#/my-toyota/eManual

The Auris (including Hybrid) has tool tray and space-saver wheel in place of the storage tray, where the tyre repair kit is stored. If you had a space saver and get a puncture, the punctured wheel should be as wide as the storage tray and space saver combined. I actually bought a secondhand full-size wheel as I hated the space saver -

The full-size fits perfectly and I stored the tools in a bag with the wheel. The tool storage tray for full size, is expensive from Toyota! The load floor and under floor storage unchanged in my Avensis. The Auris may be a little different. Auris TS Hybrid owners should share photos, especially if they have spare wheels.

I may dislike space savers, but I hate the tyre repair even more, because there will be more issues. My brother can testify this when a hidden spike ripped open his tyre!

Enjoy your car.

Have a space saver in a non-tourer - it fits in the well OK, but the floor of the under-floor storage (if that makes sense!) is slightly tilted, but acceptable. This was done as a dealer modification at delivery. In some markets there is either a factory-fitted space saver or a full-size wheel as standard with the non-tourer

Thanks for the responses, apparently the spacesaver will fit with no issues in the tourer. (According to the ebayer I'm hoping to buy from anyway). So will find out later but as it's collection and I've asked the question there shouldn't be a problem rejecting it if necessary :)

Picking my car up this evening but will be sorry to see my Focus go to be fair. Just couldn't afford to have to replace the engine if it decided to give up like a lot of the others.

I have did a little reading on the Facebook page and  then this: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/80514-10-ecoboost-head-gasket/

The engine is very complex and seems to have little margin for errors if something goes wrong. Small engine with turbo to make up power. I am waiting for the cambelt issues. Ford claim it should last the life of the engine! I hope your Auris matches your expectations.

I rather have a boring Toyota than an 'Ecoboom' as a former own call it.
