Avensis 2012 Stereo removal

hi i know this question is probably on this forum somewhere but im after a step by step guide how to remove

the stereo on a 2012 Avensis tr tourer with satnav.

im struggling to get the stereo facia off at the moment, its stuck on the top air vents ?

thats brilliant many thanks, i have followed this but its the top air vents im struggling with, do i just need to keep pulling as it seems like something is going to break, another formum shows i need to remove the very top air vent grate thingy first?

but this pic shows it a one unit not 2

i know the unit is not the satnav version but the removal looks different

Just saw the topic and the guide is exactly as I did when I added the USB adapter to the CD port to the rear of the stereo, shown in my 'how to' post:-

You have to pull the top vent by working around the edges then tug hard. Then you need to release the controls. It's been nearly two years since I did this. I remember it being a little fiddly putting the top vent control back on.

The removal is exactly the same for both the standard and 'Nav' unit. Only the rear connect will be different as the are more plugs for the Navigation/reverse camera and other features.
Why are you removing the stereo, if you don't mind answering?

hi im not removing the stereo i just need to get a wire behind it for a charging unit for my phone,
