Hi. I suspect that the AC thermistor in my E12 Corolla is broken. Does anyone now what kind of thermistor is used in the AC? Negative og postive thermistor? And what about it's resistance? I would like to buy a high quality thermistor from Mouser Electronics. But as you understand, I need to know some technical facts to order the correct one.

Thanks in advance.

This chart from a north american 2004 model shows the thermistor chart.

As you can see its a NegativeTC as the resistance decreases with temperature increase.

Most NTCs are specified with a resistance at 25deg C, but that chart does not give a specific value - it could be 2k or 3k  ..?

Are you in the US or UK, if the Uk you can buy such NTCs at many local suppliers, the bead type are generally good quality.

Any NTC around that value should still work, just that its temperature might be a few degrees different to the actual temperature.

What is the price of the sensor from Toyota ?

Have to ask what the problem with your A/C is, I would think the most common fault is loss of coolant, so no cooling effect.
