Toyota Estima 2006 petrol makes beeping melody when engine switched off

Hi Recently purchased a Toyota Estima Aeras 2006 but seems to be intermittently making beeping melody noise when engine is switched off. noise (melody /tune) goes off when switched on. Stays on even when locked Noise only in the inside near the steering wheel. 

 

Have made sure all lights, wipers are off, Doors boot shut.

Does this intermittently. After driving it may go. 

I have traced the noise to the stering wheel area, probably right hand side or near the pedals .

i know you posted a while ago but i am a newby. is the noise from the toll box which has been hidden inside plastics of steering wheel?

Has your ECT unit been removed? This is the electronic control tariff (think that's the right wording) often found in the driver's side storage box on the Mk3.
