Hi,

1.5 years old yaris - still in warranty - bought 4 weeks ago from Toyota dealer had "hybrid system failure" dashboard light appearing. Manual says car must be stop and taken to garage when this lamp lit on. Next day before taking car to garage all dashboard lit on and car cannot move at all. dead. Called AA who found error code P0705 and taken to garage. Garage run diagnostic, confirmed the P0705, tested gearshift but could not find solutions; warning light later on disappeared hence garage suggested to take it home. Anyone had similar issue / inability of garage to find the issue?

You started by saying that your car was bought from a Toyota Dealer. You then refer later to a "garage"? Is this "garage" the same as the Toyota Dealer you purchased from?

Which lamp exactly was it that illuminated?

If the shifter generated a fault, IIRC that brings on the engine check light, not the Hybrid system fault light, so not sure why they were fishing around the shifter (there are two position sensors, and it faults if there is a failure or mismatch).

I'd take it to a Toyota dealer to look at.

Do you know anything about the history of the vehicle?
