Genr 5 Backfire

my gen 5 seems to be backfiring since getting a big power flow back box.

i know that the spark plugs are at least 4 years old, so they will shortly be getting replaced./

but anyone reckon i have anything to worry about here,

other problem is blitz state the induction kit ive got sounds the same as a class a rally car.. . . . with the back box, i must admit,, it does now really sound like a rally car and sounds like power!. the backfire doesnt sound too harsh, it does sound like the cars you see rallying!

opinions?. ( the plugs im looking at are 14 quid each from fensport, so im holding off as long as possible cos its a road tax month )

hey Pedro.

I`m in the same boat. Toying with replacing the platinum ones with Iridium. Also i`m running a Blitz air filter with a Scorpion S/S exhaust. And i do get backfires usually just as i change gear. No flames tho which is good :D

I`m renewing all the ignition components and fuel filter when i can find the b***** thing. Just got it back from having the cambelt renewed so all the timing should be ok.

Dont think it`s anything too worrying. Nothing seems to have fallen off yet.

a little backfire is nothing to worry about as long as it just that little....

i used to get it on the 2 when warm, little extra fuel going through the engine...

seems it is when the cars warm, and its sounding pretty mean,

3rd gear at 2000 rpm when i take the foot of the gas, a few seconds later it bangs,

then even 4th gear again 2000rpm foot off the gas and it does it,

i was just driving easily along the motorway today when i discovered this,

does it help with any potential info that i might be requiring?

thanks
