Does anyone know if the alloys on a Corolla can be properly balanced using only stick on wheel balance weights or do they have to have clamp on weights on the inside?

As far as I'm aware stick on weights should be used on alloys, as clamp on or rim weights damage the finish of the wheel.

That's my understanding too, but the wheels on my Corolla had clamped on weights on the inside from new. I only discovered this when they started leaking air from corrosion where the weights had been.

Hi, stick on weights are fine, do less damage and can't usually be seen from the outside, usually placed close to the outside but on the inside of the wheel. If you have weights 180 degrees opposite each other then the wheel balancer didn't do his job properly, if they are say 90 degrees apart from each other then that is fine. Mike.
