Complete Car Novice!

Just saying hello and looking for some advice and to learn some things.

Just got a Yaris, my first car and I basically know nothing about cars. I only learnt cars had back brakes a week ago! Im blonde ok?!

Anyways just thought id introduce myself and i was wondering how do I get the tunes going in my car. How do I improve the sound system basically cause it just aint loud enough and the bass is poor? Told you I knew nothing!

Hiya Rea ur best bet is to go to a car audio shop or Halfords. They will recomend a sound system that would suit you and your budget best. You can also ask them to install your sound system for you if you dont fell up to doing it. I installed mine with the help from my step dad. I hav some pictures if you wana have a look

Although i am getting two 12" subwoofers in the summer which will give even more bass as they are 1200W RMS in total....whereas my current sub is 300W RMS.

By the way the Yaris is a great first car!!! It is my first car as well and I love it. Are you thinking of doing anything else apart from sound system?

Would love to do loads but am a poor university student unfortunatly so am limited by funds! Slowly but surely though. Have asked for a spolier for my birthday so it may all start there...

Oh okay Rea. Do you have alloy wheels? You could get the toyota bodykit, unless you have the t sport which already has it....but remember your insurance will go up if you get a bodykit....hence me not having one yet as I am only 18 and insurance companies hate people my age!

Depends which 1 u get! But expect about £800 upwards! Sound system is the way 2 go cos thats wot i done first!

Cheers! Was a reekin night out last year. Think I should get the sounds sorted first cause the bass distortion really annoys me. Then ill see from there.

Hey Rea hello and welcome,

Good way to improve sound firstly, which isnt to expensive is to get urself a set of rear Speakers, id recomend some 6x9s, which can go on ur parcel shelf, these arnt to expensive and u can pick up a decent pair for about £40-70, ive got 3 way pioneers, 330 watt, add some nice base to the car

Does anyone have a photo of their dash with a new cd player in it, I understand it can be done but cant visualise it with the silly dash shape an' all? Think getting a new cd player shall be the first step.

Here u go and u can get that CD player 4 about £100 now and it plays MP3 CD's! :D
